Red Ventures: Director of Product Management | Bankrate
Unknown
Description
Headquarters: United States
We are searching for an innovative thinker who wants to be a part of shaping our future product strategy supporting Bankrate's Home Lending transformation. As a Lead Product Director, you will own the strategy, roadmap, and outcomes for Bankrate’s Supply platform ecosystem, with primary accountability for Loantek, our pricing and product engine that underpins the home lending marketplace.
This role combines end-to-end product strategy ownership with people leadership. You will lead a cross-functional squad and manage a team of Product Managers and a pricing analyst, while setting a 12–24 month product vision to modernize and scale the platform in preparation for future growth and anticipated refinance traffic surges.
This is a high-impact platform role focused on reducing complexity, increasing scalability and reliability, and creating clarity across pricing, data, and advertiser workflows. You will determine the best path forward to invest in our platform and innovate to support greater personalization and prequalification capabilities.
What You’ll Do:
Product Strategy & Vision
- Own and define the end-to-end product strategy for Loantek, BAP, and RMS, with Loantek as the primary and most critical focus area.
- Develop a clear, multi-year product vision for modernizing the pricing engine and supporting systems to handle increased scale, complexity, and volume — including preparedness for expected 2026 refinance traffic surges.
- Deeply understand the current state of Loantek’s pricing logic, integrations, constraints, and operational realities, and articulate a cohesive modernization roadmap from a product lens.
- Frame strategic tradeoffs explicitly and guide investment decisions using customer needs, advertiser outcomes, platform health, and business impact.
- Ensure pricing, data, and advertiser workflows are scalable, reliable, and aligned with long-term business needs.
Cross-Functional Leadership & Execution
- Lead a cross-functional squad, setting direction while empowering PMs to own discovery, delivery details, and sprint execution.
- Partner with Engineering and Design leads to ensure strong execution health, technical quality, and appropriate sequencing of foundational vs. feature work.
- Establish clear operating rhythms, decision frameworks, and success metrics that enable consistent delivery and learning.
- Partner closely with engineering, design, data, and business stakeholders to ensure these systems work together cohesively as a platform ecosystem.
People Leadership & Craft Development
- Manage and coach 3 direct reports, acting as a people builder who grows PM craft, judgment, and autonomy.
- Provide clear expectations, ongoing feedback, and coaching across discovery, delivery, stakeholder management, and systems thinking.
- Balance being hands-on where needed while enabling PMs to independently drive day-to-day execution and discovery.
Measurement & Outcomes
- Define success metrics tied to platform scalability, pricing effectiveness, advertiser outcomes, and system reliability.
- Use quantitative and qualitative insights to validate strategy, guide prioritization, and iterate on the roadmap.
- Take accountability for outcomes, not just output, and incorporate learnings into future investment decisions.
What We’re Looking For:
- Ownership of a home lending pricing engine or PPE, ideally in mortgage or refinance contexts.
- Deep knowledge of mortgage pricing, rate logic, eligibility constraints, margins, and advertiser dynamics.
- Experience with pricing platforms such as Optimal Blue, Mortech, or similar engines.
- Proven ability to modernize and scale complex, legacy platform systems.
- Technical product or engineering background focused on backend, platform-level systems.
- Strong product leadership with a 12–24 month strategic horizon and systems-level thinking.
- Experience leading PMs or readiness to step into people leadership.
- Ability to influence cross-functional teams and drive measurable, revenue-impacting outcomes amid ambiguity.
What Success Looks Like:
- Becomes the trusted product authority for Loantek and the broader pricing platform.
- Delivers a clear modernization vision that improves scalability, resilience, and future readiness.
- Ships net-new platform capabilities that create meaningful consumer and business value.
- Builds a confident, high-impact
